First Impression

At first glance, it was a purple sea anemone! I swear. ūüėČ My journey in the photography world manifests many adventures; some of which I do not have to travel too far to experience. The other day I wandered around my brother’s property and found these pretty and curious flowers that seemed to remind me of a purple sea anemone. It did cross my mind that the Permian Basin was once underwater and had marine life… but the resemblance of these flowers and the sea anemone is but a mere coincidence. The chances of this flower being an evolved organism of an actual sea anemone are impossible considering that the sea anemone is not a plant, but an animal. Still, though… can you see what I see? Let me know if you know what this plant is ūüôā None of these photos have been filtered to enhance color or other aesthetic characteristics. #nofilter ūüôā Ok, now lets compare this flower with a sea anemone… was I right or was I wrong? Lol! Learn more about …

My Journey: What’s my blog’s niche anyway?

Hi everyone! You’ve probably been skimming through my blog for some time now and you’re probably asking yourself what this girl is up to with¬†her blog. Well, today I’m dedicating this post to answering some questions that you might have that are not noted in my About Me page. Why did you start a blog? The first time I decided I wanted to start a blog was the day I realized I was undergoing a really interesting journey¬†as college student transforming into a teacher. I wanted to¬† share all my moments with my friends and family, but I have to admit¬†that my conversations¬†would get beyond boring.¬†Thus, I would simply¬†write down my experiences in one of the many journals I have¬†here at home, but¬†one day¬†I decided that writing to myself was just not enough. I needed an audience. I wanted to put my experiences out there for others to give me feedback, or to simply use¬†my knowledge¬†for themselves. So, I thought to myself “why not start a blog?” What inspired the content in your blog? Like …

5 Clear-Framed Glasses You’ll Love

Looking for a new pair of glasses? Want to try something new and cool? Well, its no secret that Warby Parker has been releasing some really great styles that I am loving. Some of these styles that I will be sharing with you today are clear-framed. I really liking transparent frames these days because they go with anything like black frames, but these are softer on your face.

A Windy Day Past Redford, TX.

The day wasn’t perfect. It was gusty and the wind was a little cold, but that didn’t stop me. I figured that photographs are not always taken under perfect conditions. Thus, I set out on a short road trip downriver with my son to see what my camera could do. I will be returning to this site again once I become more experienced. It would probably be¬†a good¬†place for some night photography! Here is a couple miles past Redford, Texas which is located between Presidio and Lajitas. For those of you who don’t know where this is or have never heard of the Big Bend,¬†it is one of the most beautiful places in¬†Southwest Texas; and it’s my backyard. The End.

Homemade Mexican Chicken Soup Caldo de Pollo Mexicano

Homemade Mexican Chicken Soup Recipe

But then there’s nothing better than medicine like supercharged soups that heal the body and soothe the soul; just like mom’s and grandma’s. So, today I’m going to be sharing with you a delicious comfort soup for when you are sick, or someone you love is sick. My mom made this for us all the time whether we were sick or not because it was the only way that we would eat our vegetables without whining. Now let me tell you that I am not an expert in the kitchen, but I CAN make this! This is Mexican style chicken soup, or as I know it in Spanish, Caldo de Pollo. When I was young, I would help grandma and mom make this soup. I guess you could say that this is how I learned how to chop vegetables as we sat down together, peeled and chopped vegetables, and chit-chatted with laughter.

Warby Parker Home Try-On Review Mrs. Nayla

Warby Parker: Home Try-On Experience

I don’t know about you, but I have been called four-eyes during my life. At first, it wasn’t something I was proud of and I would wear my contacts instead. Yet, as I grew older, I learned to love my glasses because they are a part of who I am. Needless to say that the words “nerdy” and “geeky” have been given an ironic twist these past couple years. That’s right, nerdy and geeky is in; and its got Warby Parker written all over it. But aside from this fashion claim, I want to share a little story with you that happened to me this past year and early this month. Part of this story entails a wonderful experience with an eyewear company named Warby Parker and their Home Try-On program that I am just dying to share with you.
